The TVET College Times unit has planned to launch the #FutureFriday campaign on various digital media platforms starting in April 2021 and ending in May 2022. Every Friday, the TVET Colleges of South Africa social media pages and website will celebrate a new young and budding artisan, entrepreneur or graduate from a different TVET College.
Every Friday, a different TVET College will be chosen to showcase the achievements or a success story of a young future artisan, entrepreneur or graduate who is becoming a leader in his/her chosen profession. The selected young artisan will feature prominently on all the Department’s digital media pages to showcase their special talents and experiences.
TVET Colleges are encouraged to choose either one of the following young future artisans for the feature:
- a student who is excelling at the College by receiving many distinctions; or
- a successful alumni by using their passion and experiences to promote TVET Colleges; or
- a graduate turned-entrepreneur who is accomplishing great success after completing their studies at the College.
NB: We welcome the idea to feature a student who is an NSFAS beneficiary (one who studied through the NSFAS bursary). It is not a must but certainly be a bonus.
#FutureFriday aims to send out a strong statement to the public and employers that our TVET future artisans have the necessary skills required by the economy.
Let’s keep rising and shining together, and focus on the future!
